Gail Bird Weinshenker passed away on August 26, 2026, in Providence, Utah, according to an obituary published by White Pine Funeral Services.
Born in 1943 in Stillwater, Minnesota, Weinshenker had a diverse career spanning nursing and business management.
A graduate of Jersey City Medical Center in 1964, Weinshenker worked as a registered nurse in various capacities. Her nursing experience included roles in pediatrics, ICU, hospice, and home health care, as well as a medical expedition to Northern Mexico. She also worked at San Francisco General and served as a visiting nurse in Palo Alto.
In addition to her nursing career, Weinshenker operated a landscape company and served as an office manager for author Tom Peters. Her final business role was in facilities management for Alza Corporation in Palo Alto, California.
Weinshenker was noted for her passion for travel and lifelong learning, having taken college courses every semester for 15 years. Her travels included locations such as the Caribbean, Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Costa Rica, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Alaska, Africa, England, Holland, and Spain.
She was an active volunteer in the Cache Valley area, serving on the CAPSA Board and volunteering for the International Students and Wives Club at USU. She also worked as a coordinator for a local quilt guild.
A funeral service for Weinshenker was scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cobblestone 1st Ward in Providence, Utah.
A burial was scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the South Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, Utah.
