Wildcats at Westridge Elementary have been busy learning, exploring, and having fun this week across various grade levels.
Activities included hands-on science adventures in kindergarten and math skill development in both first grade and fifth grade.
Kindergarten Insect Week Adventures
In Miss Ariel George’s Kindergarten class, students concluded Insect Week with a hands-on adventure. The class spent the week observing crickets and writing about their favorite activities. During the week, students also discovered that crickets have ears located on their front legs.
First Grade Math Progress
First graders in Mrs. Bethany Twitchell’s SpEd class have been practicing how to add numbers in any order. Through their hard work, students earned the first feathers for their classroom Learning Turkey.
Fifth Grade Fraction Exploration
Fifth grade students in Miss Sierra Jorgensen’s class are currently exploring the addition of fractions using fraction tiles. This hands-on practice is intended to help students visualize and understand the relationships between different fractions.
The school continues to observe learning magic happening throughout the Westridge community.
