Funeral services for Gustin are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne 1st and 3rd Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A visitation will be held earlier that morning at the same location from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The interment will take place at Rockpoint Cemetery.

A graduate of Duchesne High School, Paul Gustin studied electronics and graduated from Salt Lake Community College. He spent 28 years working as a Telecommunications Technician for the State of Utah before his retirement, according to Ashley Valley Funeral Home. His work allowed him to form long-standing friendships with various dispatchers and officers.
Personal Interests
Paul Gustin was a runner who completed several marathons and was known for his love of early morning runs, even in temperatures as low as -16 degrees in Vernal. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, often sharing stories of ice fishing on Strawberry and his experiences in the outdoors, according to Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
Survivors
Paul Gustin is survived by his wife, Laurie, and three children: Brianna Lynn Hale (Gregory), Dirinda Sue Morris (Bradley), and Bryan Lane Gustin. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, as well as his parents, Mervin and Betty Gustin, and siblings Dixie Brandt (Ron), Molly Tolbert (Jason), and Lonnie Gustin (Yvonne), according to Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
