At Provo Peaks Elementary, Miranda worked as a Speech Language Technician. Speech-Language Pathologist Marki Cupp nominated Miranda for the Provo Way Award because her contribution rarely stopped at the edge of that assignment.
“Miranda is always willing to lend a helping hand around the school in addition to her own assignment,” Cupp wrote.
Her own work was worthy of attention too. Miranda created therapy sessions that students enjoyed attending, planned creatively, and adjusted in the moment when a student's needs called for something different. That balance between preparation and adaptability made her room a place students wanted to come and learn. Her coworkers benefited from the same openness. Cupp described Miranda as “a joy to be around” and “a fun person to bounce therapy ideas off of.”
Miranda brings specialized skill to her students, creativity to her sessions, and generosity to the larger Provo Peaks staff. Congratulations, Miranda, and thank you.
