BYU football head coach Kalani Sitake announced the 2026 Team Leadership Council in Provo, Utah, according to a August 31 report. The announcement comes ahead of the season opener against Utah Tech.
The 20-member council is composed of four offensive and defensive captains and 12 co-captains.
Captains include sophomore quarterback Bear Bachmeier, senior linebacker Isaiah Glasker, senior tailback L.J. Martin, and graduate defensive back Evan Johnson. Other captains are graduate offensive lineman Bruce Mitchell, senior defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa, junior tight end Roger Saleapaga, and senior linebacker Cade Uluave.
The co-captains consist of junior cornerback Therrian Alexander III, graduate quarterback Treyson Bourguet, sophomore defensive end Hunter Clegg, senior safety Raider Damuni, redshirt senior kicker Matthias Dunn, and graduate offensive lineman Andrew Gentry.
Also named as co-captains are senior defensive tackle Justin Kirkland, junior tight end Walker Lyons, senior receiver JoJo Phillips, junior safety Faletau Satuala, graduate linebacker/defensive end Bodie Schoonover, and graduate offensive lineman Kyle Sfarcioc.
