Deer Valley Resort announced on August 27 updates for the 2024/25 ski season as part of its Expanded Excellence initiative. The plan includes access to expanded terrain, three new chairlifts, and over 300 new skiable acres.
The expansion features the development of the Deer Valley East Village, which will provide 500 additional skier parking spots and serve as an alternative arrival option via U.S. Route 40 to help reduce traffic in Park City. For the 24/25 season, the East Village will offer limited amenities including a rental shop, ticketing, and complimentary ski storage. A complimentary skier shuttle will transport guests from the new parking spaces to the amenities and lifts.
The Keetley Express, which is expected to open in December 2024, conditions permitting, will be the resort's first 6-person chairlift with a bubble. This lift will connect the Deer Valley East Village to the existing resort footprint. Two additional chairlifts, Hoodoo Express and Aurora, will service new beginner-level trails and provide return access to the new village. Todd Bennett, President and COO of Deer Valley Resort, stated that the resort looks forward to welcoming guests to the beginning of the Expanded Excellence vision.
The initiative also includes a reimagined Snow Park with a new base village and the revitalization of existing mountain facilities. For the 24/25 season, the resort will introduce a new ski-in/ski-out daily après experience. The resort also continues to perform annual capital maintenance, including upgrades to grooming equipment, snowmaking systems, a new ski rental fleet, and enhanced employee housing options.
Future phases of the expansion are expected to add six additional chairlifts, including a 10-passenger gondola, and 700 more parking spaces for the 25/26 season. Once all phases are complete, Deer Valley will add 3,700 acres of skiable terrain, which would more than double the current size of the resort.
