Wasatch County Sheriff Jared Rigbi is entering his sixth year leading the county's sheriff's office, utilizing a background in law and public policy to manage agency operations.
Strategic five-year agency plan
According to the Utah Sheriffs' Association, Rigby has implemented a five-year plan for the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office focused on strategic long-term planning and clear goal setting. His professional background includes serving in the U.S. Air Force’s Defense Counsel and working with a prosecutor’s office in North Dakota.
Rigby's extensive professional background
Rigby's 24-year career in law enforcement includes previous roles with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and BYU Police. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Policy from BYU, as well as a Master of Public Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of North Dakota.
Additional community leadership roles
In addition to his law enforcement duties, Rigby serves as Chairman of the Wasatch County Republican Party and is a member of the Wasatch County Bar Association. He also oversees a scholarship program for high school seniors.
