A gardening class focused on planting, dividing, and transplanting was scheduled for September 26 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the WERC BLDG. located at 2837 East Highway 193, Layton. The session was intended to teach participants how to give their gardens a fresh start.
The class was designed to begin with an indoor presentation regarding planting principles for all types of plants. This was followed by hands-on demonstrations in the garden where techniques for dividing and transplanting perennials, grasses, and shrubs were shown. Guidance for handling trees and larger plants was also provided.
David Rice, a District Staff member, taught the class. Participants were given the opportunity to take home plant divisions and were encouraged to bring divisions or plants from their own gardens to exchange with others.
The event was held at the WERC BLDG. in Layton and was open to those looking to learn new skills for their yards.
