Corina Nelson has been named General Manager of the Salt Lake Bees, according to an announcement from Miller Sports + Entertainment. Nelson, who currently serves as the organization's vice president of baseball operations, will maintain her existing duties while stepping into the new position.
Nelson succeeds Ty Wardle, who will continue his role as executive vice president of Miller Sports + Entertainment and chief revenue officer. Wardle will provide executive oversight for the Bees and lead revenue and partnership strategy across all platform businesses.
With this appointment, Nelson becomes the first female General Manager under Miller Sports + Entertainment ownership. She is the third individual to hold the position since Larry H. Miller purchased the team in 2005, following Wardle and Marc Amicone, who served as General Manager from 2005 to 2024.
Nelson has been with the Larry H. Miller organization for over two decades. Her career began in 2005 with Mayan Restaurants, followed by 17 years with Megaplex in various leadership roles including supervisor, department manager, and general manager.
Ty Wardle, president of the Bees, stated that Nelson has been an outstanding leader who has earned the opportunity through her dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence. Wardle noted she has been instrumental in the growth of the Salt Lake Bees.
Since joining Miller Sports + Entertainment, Nelson has worked to elevate the fan experience, strengthen community partnerships, and support the transition to the Bees' new era at The Ballpark at America First Square in Downtown Daybreak.
Nelson expressed that she is honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as General Manager. She stated her intention to work alongside the staff, players, partners, and fans to continue the momentum of the organization.
