Real Salt Lake recalled 2026 homegrown signing Diego Rocío from LIGA MX side Club América on August 23, 2026. Rocío spent the first half of the 2026 MLS campaign in Mexico City.
During his time with Las Águilas, Rocío trained with the first team and appeared for the reserve squad on multiple occasions.
Rocío previously split time between the Real Monarchs and the RSL Academy during his experience in the Beehive State. In 2025, he appeared in two matches for the Real Monarchs.
The goalscorer eliminated his former club in the 2025 MLS NEXT Cup Quarterfinal stage by scoring from the spot in a 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union’s U18 squad.
A dual-national who has spent time with both the United States and Mexico Youth National teams, Rocío most recently received a call-up to the El Tri U18 squad, appearing in two matches in September 2025.
Club América finished eighth in the 2025-26 Clausura portion of its season and currently sits atop the Liga MX Apertura table after five matches. The club has also secured a spot in the 2026 Leagues Cup knockouts.
