The Price City Council met on July 22, 2026, to conduct regular business, which included recognizing local student achievements and approving several municipal resolutions. The meeting, led by Mayor Willis Jaci Adams, addressed community partnerships and updated city policies.
During the meeting, FCCLA members and spokesperson Zander Carrillo were recognized for earning top ten finishes at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. Mayor Willis and the City Council presented the members with certificates and Price City pins.
The council approved a fee waiver for the Castle Valley Community Theater, allowing the organization to use the Price City Auditorium for rehearsals and performances from November 23 to December 14, 2026. Additionally, the council passed Resolution No. 2026-18, which adopts the Carbon County Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan 12/10/2025 as the current mitigation plan for Price City. Public Works Deputy Director Justin Orth noted that the new plan covers more disasters and allows for additional funding compared to the previous 2018 plan.
The council also passed Resolution No. 2026-17, supporting the statewide initiative A Bolder Way Forward to assist Utah women and girls. This program focuses on areas such as leadership, health, childcare, and mental health resources.
Furthermore, Resolution No. 2026-19 was adopted to establish a new Price City owned space rental fee schedule and policy. Mayor Willis stated the update aims to provide consistency for all groups interested in using city facilities.
Other business included an interlocal agreement between Price City and Carbon County for the provision of indigent defense services at a rate of $8,300 per month. The council also approved the donation of a Price City owned billboard along Highway 6 to Utah State University-Eastern, which will be maintained by the university.
The council tabled a discussion regarding the donation of proceeds from the American 250 Gala to the American Legion Post 3 until the August 12, 2026, meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
