The Price City Council met on July 8, 2026, to conduct regular business, which included recognizing a local archery team and approving several municipal resolutions. According to meeting minutes, the council addressed topics ranging from sidewalk maintenance to wildfire cooperation agreements.
During the meeting, Mayor Willis and the City Council recognized the Mont Harmon Middle School Archery team. The team won first place in both the Bullseye and 3D Target categories at the World Championship held in Daytona Beach, Florida. Members of the team were presented with certificates and Price City pins.
The council approved Resolution No. 2026-16, which adopts a Price City sidewalk management, maintenance and inspection program. Administrative Director Nick Tatton noted that the Community Progress Committee would be involved with this program.
Fire Chief David Johnson presented two items regarding wildfire management. The council approved a cooperative agreement and a 2026 Participation Commitment Statement with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. Additionally, the council approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the same state division, which allows city vehicles and equipment to be maintained with permission to enter state land to fight fires when necessary.
The council also approved several consent agenda items. This included a Union Pacific 24-inch pipeline crossing license agreement to construct a water transmission line near Colton Springs, which involves a $10,000.00 permit fee. The council also confirmed a contract with the Carbon County Building Department for building permit and inspection services and the adoption of current WUI building standards, retroactive to January 1, 2026.
Jaci Adams was named the winner of the quarterly safety prize during the meeting. The session was adjourned at 5:49 p.m.
