Barry Carr, a local figure known to Ogden Raptors fans as 'The Beer Guy,' has spent the last decade pouring beer at the ballpark, according to an August 21 report by The Ogdenite. Carr, a U.S. Army veteran and assistant manager at Holiday Oil, has worked 10 seasons for the team.
Carr noted that he originally responded to a Facebook advertisement for Hawkers, believing he would be selling snacks before being offered the opportunity to sell beer. He stated that the nickname 'The Beer Guy' evolved over time as fans began calling out to him.
Throughout his tenure, Carr has encountered various notable figures, including Ogden mayors Mike Caldwell and Ben Nadolski, Roy Mayor Willard Cragun, and Brian Mullahy from Channel 2. He has also interacted with numerous Ogden Raptors players and coaching staff. One of his most memorable experiences involved being honored as the Ogden Raptors Veteran and receiving a challenge coin.
Beyond his work with the Raptors, Carr has been married to his wife, Sharajoy, for 21 years. They have five children and 14 grandchildren and are known as Santa and Joy (Mrs.) Claus during the Christmas season.
