The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has announced plans to add a lane to Legacy Parkway in each direction, stretching from Farmington to I-215. The project is part of a broader effort to manage travel demand through 2050 by adding lanes in the middle between existing northbound and southbound lanes.
Project Timeline and Completion
Construction for the expansion is anticipated to begin as early as March 23, 2026, with a target completion date by the end of 2026.
Expected Traffic Impacts and Delays
During this period, motorists should expect daytime work occurring Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. While night and weekend work may occur as needed, the project will involve shoulder and median work, traffic shifts, and lane closures. UDOT noted that drivers may experience moderate travel delays along with increased noise, vibration, dust, and construction vehicle traffic.
Design Phase and Future Schedule
The design phase for this project was slated for early 2026, following a State Environmental Study conducted in the summer and fall of 2025. Schedules remain subject to change based on material availability and weather conditions.
