Provo High School students are organizing a series of high-energy events throughout late January and February to support the community through their annual Food Drive. The campaign is designed to collect food and funds for Project Pantry, with every donation contributing to the cause.
The drive begins with a Food Drive Kick-Off Assembly in the Main Gym at 8:50 AM on January 29. This event will introduce upcoming challenges, incentives, and events for student participation.
On February 3, two major events are scheduled. The Souper Service will take place in the Commons at 5:30 PM, featuring homemade soups made by ProStart and Culinary Arts clubs. Tickets are available for $2 each or 4 for $6, providing a meal option including soup, a roll, or dessert.
That same evening, the Talent Show and Basket Bae Auction will be held at the PHS Auditorium at 7:00 PM. The auction will occur during intermission of the talent performances.
Additional fundraising activities include a Pancake Lunch on February 4, where Student Government will cook and sell pancakes in the Commons during both first and second lunches.
From February 11 to February 13, the Kids in a Box event will take place in the Commons. During this all-day event, Student Government students will stay in a glass display case, losing items such as blankets, books, and phones as more money is donated.
A Students vs. Teachers Basketball Game is scheduled for February 12 at 7:00 PM in the Main Gym. Spectators can donate to Project Pantry to implement twists in the game, such as scoreboard changes or silly outfits.
The Food Drive will conclude with the Sweethearts Assembly in the Main Gym at 8:50 AM on February 26. This final event will announce the total food and monetary donations collected and celebrate the impact of the student body's efforts.
