Centennial Middle School released a weekly videocast from Dr. Edwards containing various school updates and upcoming events for the new school year. The announcement, found in a notice on the school's website, detailed several upcoming activities and administrative requirements for students and families.
According to the school, a Back-to-School Event was scheduled for Monday, August 17, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. The open house-style event allowed attendees to tour the school, meet teachers, pay school fees, and prepare for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 19.
Families were asked to complete the required Annual PowerSchool Information Update as soon as possible. Additionally, the school noted that the Parent & Student Handbook is available on the school website and was included in a parent email.
School officials announced that the lunch schedule has been posted, with lunch periods determined by a student's 4th period teacher. A school safety drill to practice evacuation procedures was scheduled for Monday, August 24.
The school encouraged families to join the Centennial Middle School PTA, noting that the first PTA meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, at 10:30 a.m. in the school library.
Regarding safety, School Resource Officer Scott Williams provided information concerning new Utah e-bike laws that include legal restrictions affecting most middle school-aged students.
School fees can be paid online through the Provo City School District fee payment portal or in person at the Finance Office during regular business hours.
