The Provo City School District Board of Education received updates on construction at Timpview High School and demolition at Dixon Middle School during a study session board meeting held on August 11, 2026, according to a notice on the district's website.
At Timpview High School, work on the main building remains focused on foundational infrastructure. Concrete footings are ongoing, while underground mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are complete. Crews have also started preparing for the concrete slab.
Construction of the south retaining wall is continuing along the edge of the campus. Masonry work has started, and crews are continuing to apply foundation waterproofing. Underground storm drain installation is complete. A new fire hydrant has been installed as part of the completed main fire line installation. This new fire line connects to the existing South Gym fire riser room to provide water pressure to the existing school and fire protection for the bleachers and surrounding area.
Roof work above the commons has reached several milestones, including the completion of the new roof membrane, structural roof upgrades, and the installation of new roof drains. Inside the commons, a temporary wall separating students from the construction area is complete, and ceiling tile and grid repairs are finished. Work continues on tile installation at the learning stair and repairs to the surrounding flooring.
Demolition at Dixon Middle School has advanced substantially. Aerial images from the August 11 presentation showed large sections of the building removed, leaving exposed concrete slabs, foundations, and piles of structural debris across the site. Crews are using excavators to break down remaining sections of the structure and move materials such as concrete, brick, metal, and wood.
