The Provo City School District released an agenda for a study session, business meeting, and closed executive session. The meeting was scheduled to include several topics ranging from school fee schedules to large purchase requests.
According to the district's website, the study session included a training by board member Melanie Hall regarding legal status, responsibilities, and norms. Other discussion topics for the study session included school boundary and school consolidation discussions, the 2026-2027 school fee schedule, and a proposed construction manager for the new elementary school on the Dixon site.
The business meeting agenda included several large purchase requests. These requests involved a $400,000 expenditure for a Lakeview playground, $394,072.71 for asphalt projects, $197,223.51 for Independence HVAC units, and $205,319.90 for District Office HVAC units.
The board was scheduled to review several policies during the meeting, including policies regarding student misconduct, student uniforms, online learning, and non-discrimination and harassment. Additionally, the agenda included a request for a closed executive session to discuss collective bargaining, school security, and the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual.
The district noted that the public is welcome to attend open meetings at the district office. In cases where a board or staff member must attend remotely, a Zoom link is provided to the board.
