The Amelia Earhart Elementary PTA planned to support teachers and staff during Parent–Teacher Conferences held on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 27–28. The organization intended to provide meals to assist staff during the long conference evenings.
The meal plan included a soup and salad buffet for Tuesday and a pulled meat sandwich meal for Wednesday. To facilitate these meals, the PTA requested donations from the community.
Donations were requested to be brought to the school no later than 4 p.m. on either Tuesday, Jan. 27 or Wednesday, Jan. 28. The school requested that soups be brought in labeled crockpots that included a labeled serving spoon or ladle. Items such as crockpots and salad bowls were scheduled to be picked up at 6:30 p.m. on the same evening.
