Provo Peaks Elementary School announced several upcoming events and school updates for the week of August 24th. The school highlighted activities for kindergarten and sixth-grade students, alongside calls for parent involvement in the PTA.
Kindergarten students had a significant week. Back to School Night for kindergarten was scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th from 5:00–6:00 PM. The first day of school for kindergarten was Wednesday, August 26th.
School hours were set for 8:30 AM–3:20 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:30 AM–1:30 PM on Friday. Kindergarten students arriving before 8:30 AM were to enter at the south side door near the gym, where they were supervised from 8:15–8:30 AM. Breakfast was available in the lunchroom from 8:00–8:30 AM.
Sixth-grade students had the option to participate in before-school Band or Orchestra classes. A parent information night for these students was scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th at 6:30 PM in the Centennial auditorium. The first day of class for these students was Tuesday, September 1st.
The Provo Peaks Elementary PTA, a service group that supports students and teachers, invited parents to join for an $8 fee to support student programs. The group also provides an opportunity for parents to meet others.
Regarding summer activities, Monday was the final day to submit Summer Bingo reading sheets for participants to receive prizes the following week. Additionally, free summer meals were noted as available for all children ages 0–18.
Teachers were instructed to provide weekly communication regarding learning highlights, upcoming deadlines, and at-home connections. The school's summer office hours were listed as 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday.
