The Provo City School District Board of Education scheduled a study session and business meeting for August 25, 2026, according to an agenda posted on the district's website. The meetings were set to include a 4:00 p.m. study session and a 6:00 p.m. business meeting.
The 4:00 p.m. study session included board member training regarding School Board Professional Governance Standards by Emily Harrison. Other agenda items for the study session included student travel, an overview of district focus, and an update from the DLI and Boundary Study Committee. The session also addressed an RDA request from Philo Ventures for Lakeview Crossing, a fee change request for the Timpview High School Marching Band, and large purchase requests for teacher replacement computers and the Centegix Visitor Management System. Additionally, the session included policy reviews for first and second readings.
The 6:00 p.m. business meeting featured a pledge of allegiance by student board member Malaki Lesa. Business items for the meeting included student travel requests for PHS Cheer and PHS Dance and Art to California, as well as several policy reviews involving firearm safety training, risk management coverage, credit for prior teaching experience, legal defense of employees, and employee work information privacy. The meeting also addressed large purchase requests for teacher replacement computers and Centegix Visitor Management Systems. Following the business meeting, the board was scheduled to convene in a closed executive session regarding litigation.
