Centennial Middle School reported an active start to the 2026–2027 school year. Students and educators focused on building relationships, creating classroom communities, and establishing expectations during the initial days of the term.
During English Language Arts classes, students received Chromebooks and school T-shirts. In Mr. Russo's Math 7 class, students participated in a Four Corners activity to get to know classmates through movement and discussion. Mrs. Chandler's Utah Studies students designed personalized water bottle stickers and study spaces to share their interests, while Mrs. Murray's Science 8 students analyzed historical photographs to learn the difference between observations and inferences.
In Ms. Cooper's Intro to Spanish class, students participated in collaborative activities to build connections and create images representing a welcoming classroom. Ms. Robinson's English Language Arts 8 class reviewed schoolwide Chromebook expectations to establish routines for technology use. Other classroom activities included a puzzle-piece activity in Ms. Borders's Math 8 class and a pattern-identification exercise with partners in Mrs. Damavandi's Math 7 class.
