Local prep sports saw significant action on Saturday, including a rescheduled football game and non-region baseball play, according to a September 19 report by Brad James.
In 3A South football, the Juab Wasps defeated Carbon 55-7 during the resumption of a game that had been delayed by lightning on Friday. Price Armstrong threw three touchdown passes for the Wasps, while Kyler Sandoval recorded a 2-yard rushing touchdown for the Dinos in the loss.
In non-region baseball, the Bryce Valley Mustangs defeated American Heritage 10-4 on Saturday. Clay Gray and Trevyn Clark each drove in two runs for the Mustangs, while Gerardo Lopez earned the win on the mound with two strikeouts in one inning. Justin Robertson and Corban Livingston each drove in one run for the Patriots.
Volleyball tournament results included victories for Emery over South Sevier 3-1 and 3-0, North Summit over South Sevier 3-0 and Panguitch 3-0, and North Sanpete over Snow Canyon 3-1 and Panguitch 3-0. Snow Canyon also recorded a 3-0 win against North Sevier.
