Hello Parents of Spring Creek Students
One more week of school! That is incredible. As we approach the end of the year, please look for your child's end-of-year progress report for their classwork.
For 3rd–6th grades, we will be sending reports of their state testing results.
Math and language arts results are for each grade.
4th–6th grades have science scores.
5th grade has writing scores.
For these scores:
Well below grade level
Approaching grade level
Proficient
Excelling on grade-level material
Have a good conversation about these scores with your child. Celebrate successes and discuss needs for improvement and how they think they could do that.
We will be having our end-of-year dance festival at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, and students will be meeting their teacher for next year earlier that morning. A letter will be sent home informing you of their teacher for next year.
Please note that we are in the middle of hiring a Kindergarten and 5th-grade teacher, so your letter home may say “new teacher” instead of a teacher's name.
As we finish up the year, please make your gratitude known for your child's teacher. They have worked hard with your kids to help them through their learning journey.

That is a lot of changes for the upcoming year! I know our faculty will knit together, bring new hires into our fold, and continue the great things happening at Spring Creek Elementary.

We did not have to hold an election because we had five openings and five people who put their names in as candidates. We are excited to have them each on our community council and appreciate their willingness to serve our community.

Acknowledging What Is Great About You
We try to teach that there is greatness in all our students. We want them to treat themselves like they have great value and not engage in negative self-talk or think their value is less because of an action they have done, the way they dress, or the scores they get on a test.
They retain their value even with mistakes, bad fashion sense, or other people being unable to see their worth. We want them to see the worth in themselves.

If you mess up in life, does that mean you are worth less? Why?
What does it mean to have self-worth?
How can you see yourself as someone who is awesome?
What gets in your way of feeling good about yourself?

PCSD Summer Meals
All children 18 years and younger eat for FREE! Join us for our Summer Meals FREE Breakfast and Lunch program at eight convenient locations around the district:
Franklin Elementary

Meals will be available June 1 through July 16. Meals are served Monday–Thursday only.
Breakfast: 8:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Adult breakfast cost: $2.25

Kids Read Now
Students in grades K–3 will be receiving four free books in the mail this summer through the state-funded Kids Read Now program.
Kindergarten through third-grade parents should watch for an email on Monday, May 18, for more information about this program.
