Heartcode PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) was offered to prepare healthcare professionals to manage emergencies in infant and children. The training was designed to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by teaching providers to recognize and intervene in cases involving respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest through high-quality individual skills and high-performance team dynamics.
The training consisted of a two-part class and a two-part registration process. Participants were required to complete the American Heart Association Heartcode PALS online course before attending a skills class. The total cost for the course was $250, which included $72 for a skills class and $178 for the online course.
Prerequisites for the skills class included a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and the completion of the online course to generate a required Certificate of Completion. Participants who successfully completed the required skills received a card via email.
Scheduled sessions were held at various locations. A session was held at McKay-Dee Hospital Education Center, located at 4401 Harrison Blvd. in Ogden, UT, on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Other sessions were held at Logan Regional Hospital, located at 500 E 1400 N, Logan, Utah.
The program maintained a no-refund policy. A $20 fee was required for rescheduling.
