Washington City has appointed Brittany McMichael as the city's first Assistant City Manager, according to a press release from the city.
The new position was created to strengthen organizational leadership and support the needs of 15 departments in a community of nearly 40,000 residents.
McMichael brings over 25 years of local government experience within Washington County. In her most recent role, she served as the Director of the Greater Zion Convention and Tourism Office, where she oversaw more than $20 million annually in public revenue, grant funding, capital projects, community development initiatives, and organizational programs.
Her professional background includes extensive experience in public administration, strategic planning, organizational leadership, budget oversight, and government and community relations. She has worked with various entities, including elected officials, municipal leaders, advisory boards, state agencies, businesses, and community organizations throughout the region.
City Manager Jeremy Redd stated that he was impressed by McMichael's leadership abilities, collaborative approach, and commitment to the long-term success of Washington City.
McMichael expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join the city and noted her respect for the responsibilities of public service. She stated her intention to bring her experience to the role while learning from current staff and community members.
McMichael joins the city during a period of significant population, commercial, and recreational growth. The city remains committed to preserving the quality of life for its residents as the community continues to expand.
