Wasatch Elementary School has released its weekly update for May 11th through May 15th, detailing a variety of student activities, field trips, and behavioral goals. The school is currently emphasizing BARK behavior on the playground, where staff members will award Pawsome tickets to students following established safety and responsibility guidelines.
Playground behavior expectations
The school's playground expectations focus on being safe, acting responsibly, respecting self and others, and continuing to grow. Specific rules include using equipment properly, keeping hands and feet to oneself, taking care of equipment, and following directions quickly.
Upcoming weekly field trips
Several field trips are scheduled for the week. On Tuesday, May 12th, fourth grade will visit This is the Place, and second grade will visit the BYU Museum of Art. Wednesday features a fifth grade trip to JA City and a first grade trip to the BYU Bean Museum. Additionally, third grade will host a Thanksgiving Point presentation at the school on Wednesday morning.
Concerts and important deadlines
Other notable events for the week include a Band/Orchestra concert on Tuesday evening and a District School Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 7:00 pm, which will discuss DLI and highlight the district elementary music program. On Thursday, May 14th, all books are due to the library.
Class attendance rewards
The school also noted that many classes have been earning attendance rewards and puzzle pieces for being present and on time.
End of year milestones
Looking ahead to the remainder of the month, Wasatch Elementary has several upcoming milestones, including an End of Year Awards Assembly on May 18th, Field Day on May 19th, and a sixth grade graduation on May 21st. The school year is scheduled to conclude on May 22nd with the Wasatch Dance Festival.
