An emergency water shutdown was issued for 30th St. from Van Buren Ave. to Brinker Ave. because a pipeline requires immediate repair, according to a notice on the city's website.
The shutdown affects hydrants in the area and may cause water discoloration. Officials recommended running a cold water faucet in a bathtub until the water clears to help flush home water lines. It was recommended that residents avoid using hot water or washing light-colored laundry until the water runs clear.
Once emergency repairs are complete, water crews will flush lines in the area. Residents were asked to provide notification if discolored water persists.
