A water main break on Cross Hollow Road caused water to flow onto the roadway, according to a September 19 statement from Cedar City. The break, the cause of which was unknown, led to service interruptions for residents in the area west of Cross Hollow Road.
Crews worked on the repairs throughout the day on September 19. In an update provided at 12:00 PM, officials stated that all wells are up and running. Residents in affected areas should have water service, though they may experience lower than normal water pressure as water tanks continue to fill.
During the repair process, residents in the Providence and Leigh Hill areas were asked to turn off all outside watering to assist the system in regaining full pressure. For additional water service concerns, the Water Department's after-hours emergency line can be reached at 435-414-0067.
Cedar City officials expressed appreciation to the responding crews and the residents for their patience and support during the event.
