Statewide Level 1 and Level 2 fire restrictions were lifted as of September 4, according to a notice on the Summit County Alert Center website. However, local fire district rules remain active in several areas.
Level 1 restrictions remain active within the boundaries of the Park City Fire District and the North Summit Fire Service District. Under these rules, open fires are permitted only in approved, permanent fire pits, while cutting, welding, and grinding are strictly regulated.
In a previous update from June 24, 2026, Summit County's fire danger level was reported to have increased to extreme, with all state and unincorporated lands in the county under a Stage 1 Fire Restriction.
