A nominator for the award highlighted Moon's impact, noting that she recently assisted a teacher struggling to meet the needs of a math intervention group. During this time, Moon made a specific effort to help pull students so that the group size was manageable enough to address various challenges.
Beyond direct instruction, Moon has supported her team by helping create flashcards and a passoff system for math facts. She also facilitates learning walks in other classrooms and arranges for substitute coverage, or takes over classes herself when necessary.
Moon maintains availability through monthly meetings where she offers assistance to anyone in need of help with any task.
The nominator stated that the school is lucky to have Moon as an instructional coach, describing her as amazing. Her willingness to assist regardless of the need has created a lasting difference for both students and teachers at Wasatch Elementary.
