Public Works Director Mike Casper provided an update regarding ongoing roadwork in Red Creek on CR 1 and the preparation of a new yard for fuel tanks. The commission also approved a motion to purchase shelving for the new road department building for up to $40,000 using fund 41. Additionally, Emergency Management Director Josh Phillips reported on moisture levels in the county, noting that Moon Lake, Dollar Ridge, and Indian Canyon are 13 inches below average.
The commission ratified a leasing agreement with Super Com for the probation program to track ankle monitors, noting the cost is significantly lower than the previous provider. The commissioners also approved new business licenses for Dye Electric & Automation of Roosevelt and Cody Hansen Construction of Fruitland. Regarding financial reports, the commission accepted an independent auditor's report which noted a deficiency in the Long Term Health Fund's budget.
During the session, the commission approved a payroll report for the period ending July 18, 2026, totaling $927,869.65. They also approved vouchers for July 27, 2026, totaling $1,171,852.85. The meeting concluded following a closed session regarding pending or reasonably imminent litigation.
