The Washington Terrace City Council is scheduled to hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., according to a Sept. 10 notice. The meeting will take place at 5249 South 400 East.
A primary item on the agenda is Motion/Ordinance 26-04, which seeks to amend the Washington Terrace City Code. The proposed ordinance aims to repeal and re-enact Section 17.48.030 to comply with an unfunded state mandate regarding certain accessory dwelling units. This ordinance was previously discussed during a Council Work Session on Sept. 1, 2026, and the Planning Commission recommended approval following a public hearing held on Aug. 27, 2026.
The meeting will include a roll call, a pledge of allegiance, and a welcome. Following consent items, such as the approval of the agenda and minutes from the Sept. 1, 2026, meeting, the council will hear citizen comments. The meeting will also feature council communication with staff, administration reports, and a review of upcoming events.
Upcoming community events include an Emergency Preparedness Fair scheduled for Sept. 17 at the fire station. Other scheduled items include NIMS 402-Elected Officials Training on Sept. 29 at the Senior Center and a City Council meeting on Oct. 6.
