The Provo Recreation Center has been named Utah's highest-rated public swimming pool according to a recent ranking by ABC4. The ranking was based on Google Maps reviews of aquatic facilities along the Wasatch Front, where every pool evaluated earned at least a 4.4-star rating. Provo secured the top position due to thousands of positive experiences shared by visitors.
The facility, which opened in 2013, replaced an original recreation center that had served residents since the 1970s. The 160,000-square-foot center was designed to promote active lifestyles for all ages by combining fitness, recreation, aquatics, and family amenities.
Visitors to the aquatic facilities can access four unique pools. These include a 10-lane competition pool, a deep-water adventure pool featuring a climbing wall and diving platform, a leisure pool with a lazy river and children's play area, and a seasonal outdoor water park with wave action, waterslides, and a zero-depth splash area. The competition pool is also used for the NINJACROSS aquatic obstacle course during select times.
In addition to the pools, the center includes family changing rooms, accessible amenities, fitness areas, climbing walls, party rooms, and outdoor recreation spaces.
According to the ABC4 ranking, the Lindon Aquatic Center and Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center were named the other top three pools in Utah.
The recognition of the Provo Recreation Center highlights a community investment that has continued to serve residents for over a decade since its opening.
