Lincoln Academy released a report on September 1 detailing highlights from its August 2026 board meeting. The board stated its commitment to making decisions that align with the school mission and vision of empowering students to S.O.A.R.
During the meeting, the board approved the use of several books in the school. The approved titles include The Swimmer by John Cheever, Amigo Brothers by Piri Thomas, Mary Celeste by Arthur Conan Doyle, There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury, Yesterday Was Beautiful by Roald Dahle, Cooking Time by Anita Roy, Showdown by Shirley Jackson, Candy Shop Wars by Brandon Mull, Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate, Warriors Don’t Cry by Melba Beals, Breaker Boys by Michael Burgan, Becoming Ben Franklin by Russell Freedman, On the Far Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead-George, Shouting at the Rain by Linda Hunt, Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly, The King’s Fifth by Scott O’Dell, Baseball in April by Gary Soto, Call It Courage by Armstrong Sperry, Chasing Lincoln’s Killer by James Swanson, The Land by Mildred Taylor, and I Rode a Horse of Milk White Jade by Diane Wilson.
