During the March 1s, 2026, School Community Council meeting, officials at Timpview reviewed the current year's budget plan and discussed progress on several school improvement plans. Momi noted that future funding for each item will be evaluated based on effectiveness and time to determine if support will continue.
The projected allocation for the upcoming year is $458,951.
Regarding the literacy framework, Camille reported that a Tier 3 Reading Intervention program currently serves 93 students, primarily in the 9th grade. This program, funded through Trustlands, utilizes Lexia PowerUp and has resulted in 9th-grade students showing an average growth of approximately one grade level on NWEA assessments during the second semester.
Future goals for this initiative include expanding the program to serve up to 150 students. Additionally, content literacy specialists in each department have received training to support schoolwide professional development and improve literacy across all content areas. New legislation is not expected to impact the use of Lexia.
For the 9th Grade On-Track to Graduate initiative, Momi shared data showing varying levels of student progress, with on-track percentages reported at 91%, 86%, and 72%. An intervention effort has identified 55 students for additional support to increase these percentages. The 9th Grade Academy currently includes 397 students organized into two cohorts that share core classes such as English 9, World Geography, and Earth and Space Science.
The council also discussed the ASPIRE+ and NWEA Show What We Know support system, which aims to increase performance by 5% and promote a Timpview Strong mindset. Tier 2 interventions included teachers setting goals with Non-High Risk Factor students in February, while Tier 1 schoolwide supports involved faculty meetings, homeroom focus sessions on goal setting, and daily testing tips shared via social media and the school website.
In terms of advanced opportunities, Martin reported ongoing teacher co-training for AP instruction. Funding is provided for all concurrent enrollment fees and the first AP test fees. The AVID program continues to support students across grades 9 through 12, with varying numbers of students enrolled in both standard classes and concurrent enrollment.
Timpview has demonstrated growth in AP test participation and passing rates from 2023 to 2026, which has increased opportunities for students to earn college credit and reduce higher education costs.
