The ProvoREADS initiative is encouraging students to explore books, topics, and stories that spark curiosity during its September theme, Discover Your Reading Path, according to a September 10 report.
The program aims to help readers find paths that make reading something to look forward to rather than just an assignment.
The September Family Reading Challenge encourages families to visit school or public libraries together. Families can participate by exploring new sections, asking librarians for recommendations, trying new genres, or obtaining a library card.
In October, the reading journey will continue with the Utah Reads Statewide Read-A-Thon on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. Governor Spencer Cox and First Lady Abby Cox will join readers across the state for the event. Students and employees of the Provo City School District are scheduled to participate from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Families and community members are encouraged to join the excitement. Details regarding specific school participation can be obtained by reaching out to individual schools.
