Lehi Freeway Expansion Details
One of the largest efforts is the 2100 North Freeway Project (SR-194) in Lehi. UDOT is building a new 2.8-mile freeway segment connecting the Mountain View Corridor to I-15, including 14 new bridges, two pedestrian bridges, and nearly two miles of shared-use paths. Construction began in spring 2026 and is scheduled to continue through the end of 2028, with an estimated cost of $621 million. The project is expected to save east-west commuters about 12 minutes per trip during peak periods.
Widening 1600 North Corridor
In Lindon and Orem, crews started widening 1600 North (SR-241) on March 25, 2026. The project expands the corridor to five lanes between 1200 West and State Street, adds a shared-use path and bike lanes, and upgrades intersections at 1200 West, 800 West, and State Street. Work is focused on the south side through fall 2026, with full completion targeted for late fall 2027.
Spanish Fork Canyon Safety Upgrades
Safety and mobility improvements continue on US-6 in Spanish Fork Canyon. The $87.8 million effort widens the route from Chicken Hollow to Tie Fork, with segments reduced to one-way alternating traffic during daytime hours. Construction is underway and expected to wrap in 2027. A related grade-separated crossing at the US-6 and US-89 intersection at Thistle Junction is also planned to begin in late spring 2026.
Other Ongoing Regional Projects
Additional active work includes the Payson Parkway Interchange on I-15 and various improvements along segments of I-15 from Santaquin to Payson and Springville to Spanish Fork. UDOT also lists ongoing efforts such as Geneva Road improvements in Orem, safety and mobility enhancements from American Fork to Pleasant Grove, and the Central Utah Fiber project spanning into Utah County.
