Academic changes were also a primary concern for several sixth graders. Some students at Timpanogos Elementary noted they are nervous about harder exams and more stressful workloads, while others at Wasatch expressed apprehension regarding the increase in different classes and periods.
Excitement for new social opportunities
Despite these nerves, much of the sentiment remained positive. Students highlighted excitement about meeting new people, making new friends, and having more elective options, such as music classes like guitar. Some students at Canyon Crest specifically noted their enthusiasm for having more classes available to them.
Advice for younger elementary students
Sixth graders also offered advice to their younger peers in elementary school. Common themes included the importance of working hard, staying focused, being nice to teachers, and enjoying elementary school while it lasts.
