The Provo City School District scheduled a study session and business meeting for Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The agenda includes discussions regarding school boundaries, consolidation, and several large purchase requests for district facilities.
During the 4:00 p.m. study session, board members will participate in training led by Melanie Hall regarding legal status, responsibilities, and norms. The session also includes discussions on DLI, school boundaries, and school consolidation.
Financial items on the agenda include a review of the 2026-2027 school fee schedule and the FY 2027 budget. Large purchase requests scheduled for consideration include $400,000 for a Lakeview playground, over $394,000 for asphalt projects, and HVAC unit updates for both Independence High School and the District Office.
Superintendent Wendy Dau will present several policies for second readings, including updates to policies regarding student misconduct, uniforms, student activities, driver education, and non-discrimination.
The 7:00 p.m. business meeting will feature community connections, including the Provo Way Awards. Recognized individuals include Marsa Robinson, Tommy Hirshi, Jan Jardine, Jennifer Hatfield, Sara Thompson, Alison Van Orden, and Eliza Dayamari Villarreal Nieves.
Additional business items for the evening include reviews of school land trust plans, school improvement plans, and TSSA funding. The board will also review the consent calendar, which contains routine reports such as personnel reports and financial reports.
Following the business meeting, the board will convene in a closed executive session to discuss collective bargaining, school security, and matters regarding the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual.
