A fire restriction order in Spanish Fork was terminated effective at sunrise on September 15, 2026, according to a September 15 statement. The order had been in place since June 3, 2026.
Although the restriction has been lifted, officials stated that vegetation in the Oaks area remains dry and the risk of wildfire still exists. Recreationalists are asked to ensure that fires and charcoal are completely extinguished with copious amounts of water before leaving. Any wildfires originating from a campfire or charcoal cooking remains the liability of the recreationalist.
The original restriction was implemented by the Fire & EMS Chief due to weather conditions and dry vegetation in the Spanish Fork City South Bench Neighborhoods, Incorporated River Bottoms, Reservoir, Recreation, and Campground areas. Prohibited acts under the previous order included open fires, charcoal cooking, the use of fireworks or pyrotechnic devices, metal cutting or welding in dry vegetation, and operating certain small internal combustion engines without an approved spark arrestor.
