PROVO – The 2026 BYU football season marks the 20th year of gameday fan shirts.
For two decades, BYU football fans have been purchasing a budget-friendly shirt to wear on Saturdays in the fall.
The 2026 edition was released this week.

BYU football gameday shirts
It’s a royal blue t-shirt with the traditional white BYU helmet featuring a royal blue stretch Y logo, and a royal blue facemask. Above the helmet design reads, “COUGS.”
On the side of the helmet, the shirt says, “Go Cougs,” along with a roman numeral version of 2026.
The back of the t-shirt features “Go Cougs” along with four different logos: a stretch Y, a sailor cougar, a beetdigger logo, and a mini helmet logo.
Then the usual corporate sponsors are also on the back. This year, it’s Aptive, BYU Store, and PACS.
The shirt is made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton.
Pricing and purchasing information
Like anything else in today’s economy, the price of the gameday shirts has gone up. The shirts are priced at $14.99. When gameday shirts were introduced in 2007, they cost $5.
Fans can purchase the shirts at the BYU Store in Provo or online at byustore.com.

BYU football kicks off the 2026 season on Saturday, September 5, against Utah Tech at 6 p.m. (MT) at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on ESPN+ and KSL NewsRadio.
