Earlier that year, a natural avalanche occurred at Talking Mountain Cirque on March 19, 2026, with a depth of 3.5 feet and a width of 250 feet. On February 20, 2026, multiple natural avalanches were recorded at Talking Mountain Cirque, Red Snow Cirque, Middle Cirque, and Horse Creek. On February 19, 2026, a skier triggered an avalanche at Horse Creek Chutes that was 4 feet deep and 350 feet wide.
Other recorded incidents in the Moab region include an accident involving a snowmobiler at East Face Laurel Peak on January 9, 2026. Other natural avalanches recorded in the region include events at Gold Basin, Gravel Pit Lanes, Mount Mellenthin, and TMC NE Face Skier's Right. In late 2025, natural avalanches were documented at Mt. Tomasaki and Colorado Bowl.
