A fatal crash occurred on July 20th on I-255 near Redwood Road in Taylorsville. The incident involved a Hyundai Elantra and a semi-truck, resulting in the death of the Elantra driver.
According to reports, a Hyundai Elantra was traveling eastbound on I-215 when its hood became unlatched and flipped up. The driver of the Elantra stopped the vehicle between lanes two and three.
A semi-truck traveling behind the Elantra was unable to stop and struck the rear of the vehicle. The driver of the Elantra, identified as 28-year-old Lovine Aiulu Saili, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
Traffic lanes were closed for approximately four hours while investigators processed the crash scene.
