Tuacahn announced its 2027 production lineup in a statement released September 17. The upcoming season includes musical productions such as Hercules and The Prince of Egypt, alongside indoor theater offerings.
The 2027 outdoor amphitheater lineup includes Disney's musical Hercules, featuring music by Alan Menken. Shari Jordan, associate artistic director for Tuacahn, stated that the production is a perfect fit for the venue and noted that the production might influence future versions of the show.
Also scheduled for the outdoor amphitheater is The Prince of Egypt, a stage production based on the popular film. Artistic director Scott Anderson said the production will utilize new LED capabilities to portray special effects in a different way than the organization's 2018 production.
Rounding out the outdoor offerings is the musical Hairspray. Anderson noted that the production aims to entertain, inform, and educate through its messaging.
The season will begin in the Indoor Hafen Theatre in January with a production of The Play That Goes Wrong. Shari Jordan said the organization has been looking forward to offering a non-musical production for a long time.
The indoor season will conclude with Million Dollar Quartet Christmas. This production features the vocal stylings of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis performing holiday tunes.
Season packages for the 2027 lineup are scheduled to go on sale Nov. 3. More details are available at www.tuacahn.org.
