Canyon Crest announced several upcoming school activities and a new staff member in a report published September 8.
Mark Burge stated that students and staff have been working hard at Canyon Crest following the Labor Day holiday.
Avery Powell has joined the school as a new kindergarten teacher for the third kindergarten class.
Beginning-of-year assessments are currently underway to identify student strengths and opportunities for growth. School officials reminded parents to keep toys, such as stuffed animals and action figures, at home. Additionally, the district cell phone policy applies to smart watches, and students are encouraged not to use them for calling or texting during the school day.
Upcoming scheduled events include:
September 9: School Community Council Meeting at 3:45 p.m. in the conference room.
September 10: Vision Screening.
September 11: PTA Fall Festival from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
September 14–18: Bike/Walk to School Week.
September 18: ROAR Assembly.
September 28: Hearing Screening.
October 2: School Read-A-Thon from 9:30–10:00 a.m.
