The Smithfield City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to discuss Ordinance 2026-16, according to a September 3 notice. The meeting is scheduled to begin no sooner than 6:05 P.M. at the City Office Building located at 96 South Main, Smithfield, Utah.
The hearing concerns a request from Elk Ridge Subdivision, LLC to rezone several Cache County parcels. The request involves rezoning parcel numbers 08-192-0067, 08-192-0068, 08-192-0069, 08-192-0070, 08-192-0071, and 08-192-0072. The land, which totals approximately 1.85 acres and is located at approximately 56 to 120 South on 1300 East, would be changed from A-10 (Agricultural 10-Acre) and R-1-12 (Single Family Residential 12,000 Square Feet) to R-1-12 (Single Family Residential 12,000 Square Feet).
