The growth in the Salt Lake City-Provo-Orem metro area is being driven by several new clubs and facilities. As of the second quarter of 2026, Utah hosts six padel clubs and 28 total courts, according to SimplePadel. This expansion includes the SLC Padel Club in Woods Cross, which was founded by Pedro Bautista and his father. Originally featuring three indoor courts, the facility recently added a fourth premium court designed for private corporate events, team-building experiences, and VIP gatherings.
Tech Hub Expansion
The rapid development of the sport has led to new ventures in the state's growing tech hubs. In Lehi, located in the Silicon Slopes region, Conquer Padel Club is establishing a second location following its initial opening in Tempe, Arizona, last year. The Lehi facility is expected to feature seven panoramic indoor courts alongside fitness, recovery, and social areas. To attract new players, the club has offered "Early Adopter" memberships for as little as $30 per month during its pre-opening phase.
Orem Market Entry
In Orem, Padel Den has established a presence at the Call Commercial Business Park. The facility, which signed a long-term lease for 23,021 square feet at Building 3 on November 14, 2025, was facilitated by Colliers Utah. Co-owners Parker and Kyle Quinlan expressed optimism for the sport's future in Utah County, noting the region is an ideal location for the energetic sport due to its active community.
Diverse Membership Models
Additional facilities are entering the market, including Padel Park in West Jordan and The Hive Padel Club in Salt Lake City. Padel Park offers a variety of membership options, including 50 founding memberships priced at $2,000 for unlimited play during the first year, and unlimited memberships for $300 per month. The Hive Padel Club, which began positioning itself as a multi-amenity wellness destination in the summer of 2026, features four indoor courts along with a gym, cafe, and DJ booth.
Global Celebrity Influence
The rise of padel in Utah occurs amidst a global trend where the sport is gaining significant traction among high-profile celebrities. According to The Hollywood Reporter, stars such as David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jay-Z, and Tom Holland have been linked to the sport. Actress Eva Longoria, who has invested in a padel team, noted the sport's accessibility, stating it is fun for both experts and novices. The sport's popularity is further evidenced by luxury brands like Rolex and Lamborghini, which have entered the market through endorsements and branded equipment.

Despite the rapid increase in courts, industry experts suggest the market remains in its early stages. While the greater Salt Lake City-Provo-Orem metro area has approximately 2.9 million residents and 22 courts—roughly one court per 131,818 residents—global data suggests significant room for growth. For comparison, the World Padel Report 2025 from FIP indicates that in Sweden, there is one court for every 2,515 residents, and in Spain, there is one for every 2,820. Pro Padel League CEO Mike Dorfman noted that the U.S. is in the "top of the first inning" regarding the sport's maturity.

The sport, which was invented in 1969 by Enrique Corcuera in Mexico, continues to evolve as a hybrid of tennis and racquetball. It is typically played in pairs on a court about half the size of a tennis court, surrounded by glass walls.
