Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are currently in effect at Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation. Under these restrictions, there are no open fires of any kind allowed, which includes fires within established fire pits, charcoal grills, pellet grills, or any use of ash-producing fuel.
Properly shielded gas or liquid-fueled portable camp stoves with a shut-off valve remain permitted. These must be used in an area that is at least three feet in diameter and consists of barren ground with no flammable vegetation.
Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation features the waters of Starvation Reservoir, which provide opportunities for fishing and boating.
The park offers several camping options, including four primitive campgrounds and two developed campgrounds. Visitors can access nearby trails for off-highway vehicle use, or participate in activities such as a 3D archery course, disc golf, geocaching, slacklines, and walking.
