Stage 2 fire restrictions are currently in effect at Bear Lake State Park. These restrictions prohibit all open fires of any kind, including those within established fire pits, charcoal grills, pellet grills, or any other ash-producing fuel.
Properly shielded gas or liquid-fueled portable camp stoves with a shut-off valve may be used, provided they are placed in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren and contains no flammable vegetation.
Park roads and several day-use areas remain open. The Marina, First Point, and Cisco Beach are open year-round, while Rainbow Cove and the Eden areas of the park are scheduled to remain open until approximately October 31.
Rendezvous Beach is currently open but will close around the third week of October.
Regarding boat launches, the Marina, First Point, Cisco Beach, and Rainbow Cove launch ramps are open. However, officials issued an advisory for Rendezvous Beach, stating they do not recommend launching boats at that location due to low lake elevation. Use of the ramp at Rendezvous Beach is at the user's own risk.
At Cisco Beach, the use of a 4wd vehicle is highly recommended for the launch ramp.
Construction is ongoing for the Bear Lake Marina expansion project. Officials are working with the contractor to minimize impacts on existing marina operations.
Campground availability remains as follows:
Rendezvous Beach, including Big Creek, Birch, Cottonwood, and Willow campgrounds, offers full hook-up and tent sites. Reservations are highly recommended through Labor Day Weekend.
Cisco Beach provides primitive, first come, first serve campsites that are open year-round. Sunset at Rainbow Cove offers semi-primitive sites with shade shelters, picnic tables, and fire rings on a first come, first serve basis.
South Eden and North Eden campgrounds both offer partial hook-up and tent sites, with reservations highly recommended through Labor Day Weekend.
The current lake elevation is 5913.65 feet. Recent air temperatures have seen daytime highs ranging from the mid-80s to the mid-90s, with overnight lows between the low 60s and high 60s.
The lake surface is currently open with no ice present.
